What types of projects does By Design Construction take on in Burnaby?

By Design Construction works on custom homes, laneway homes, duplexes, major renovations, home additions, and kitchen remodels in Burnaby. We also have experience with more complex residential and small-scale multi-unit projects.

Does a sloped Burnaby lot make a project more complicated?

It can. Slope can affect excavation, drainage, foundations, retaining, and access. The important thing is understanding those conditions early so the design and budget reflect the actual site.

Does lane access matter when planning a home project in Burnaby?

Yes, lane access can affect servicing, site logistics, and how you plan additional housing. It is one of the property conditions we look at early.

How do I know what makes sense for my Burnaby property?

We start by looking at the property, site conditions, zoning, budget, and how you want to use the space. From there, we can help compare options such as renovating, adding on, building a laneway home, creating a duplex, or starting fresh.

When should I talk to a builder about my Burnaby project?

Ideally, before the design is too far along. Early builder input can help identify feasibility, budget, and construction considerations while you still have room to adjust the plan.

We recently had our home renovated by Bobby and his team at By Design Construction and we couldn't be happier with the results. The cabinets are gorgeous, and the tiling and flooring were expertly done.

Baltej Singh Dhillon

The company was a pleasure to work with.Work was completed in a timely fashion and we couldn't be more happier with the outcome. It increased not only the value of our home but made it more usable and added curb appeal. Bobby is very knowledgeable and there are no hidden surprises. He consulted with us on cost and ideas throughout the entire process, that worked within our budget.

Bobby managed the project with great insight and care, overseeing all aspects of the project making it stress free for us. We were appreciative of the care Bobby took, and how he paid attention to the details and areas that we had no expertise in , always providing guidance by citing other projects, allowing us to better understand the details of the project.

We would definitely recommend this company for any project, and have leaned on Bobby on advice and support on a number of projects.
